How to install

1. Prepare Installation Area

Preparation of your garage floor is key to making sure the Boer Garage Guardian Threshold Seal will adhere. The better the preparation the longer the Threshold Seal will stay on your garage floor. Begin by sweeping away any debris that may be there by using a hard bristle broom. Afterwards it is recommended to spray down the are with hose and some detergent to remove any oils or contaminants that may be ingrained in the garage floor.

Let the installation area dry fully for best installation.

2. Position Threshold Seal

Unroll the Boer Garage Guardian Threshold Seal and center it between the garage door tracks with the 45° hump on the inside of the garage, see photo for reference. You can trim any excess threshold seal if necessary to fit.

3. Lower and Trace

Once the Threshold Seal has been positioned carefully lower the garage door to check that it rests in front of the 45° hump. Once the position is confirmed, raise the garage door and trace the outside of the Garage Threshold Seal with a marker. When the trace is complete remove the threshold seal.

4. Apply Adhesive

Now using the supplied Boer Construction Adhesive, create 3 rows of adhesives within the traced lines. 2 lines running parallel to the traced lines and a zig zag in between the 2 parallel lines. See Graphic D.

5. Install Seal

Once the adhesive is applied, lay the threshold seal on top of the Boer Construction Adhesive. Carefully apply pressure to spread the adhesive uniformly underneath the threshold seal. Once complete close the garage door and allow up to 24 hours to dry before driving over the threshold.
